Our Story
Steen Machining began operating in Broomfield, CO in 1985. For over 35 years, we have provided a wide range of machining services, computer numerical control (CNC) turning and milling, both prototype and production, finishing and assembling to a host of customers in a variety of fields.
We have supplied parts to the aircraft, automotive, and medical industries. Fabricated engraving machinery, pump and compressor parts, and serviced the high tech and aerospace industries.
We have expertise in a broad range of materials; various steels, stainless steels, castings, alloys, and plastics.
We are comfortable holding close tolerances and producing high quality finishes. We are committed to providing quality, affordable parts on time.
We are fully capable of 3-D machining and although, we are strongly CNC oriented, we also have a solid base of manual machining knowledge.

Jessica Sims
Owner
After working in various positions throughout the shop for over 20 years, Jessica, daughter of Dan and Julie, purchased Steen Machining in March 2023.
Dan Steen
Founder
Dan has been a skilled machinist for over 40 years. He began Steen Machining in his garage with one manual mill in 1985. Today, he is happily enjoying retirement.
Julie Steen
Office Manager and Vice President
Julie has been married to Dan for 39 years and helped him grow Steen Machining from the ground up. She handles all of the book keeping and front of house operations.
Andy Sims
Operations
Andy has been with Steen Machining 2010 and has immersed himself in the field of machining in order to help Jessica continue to family business.
Danny Huston
Shop Manager
Danny has been machining for nearly 40 years and has been Steen Machining’s foreman since 1996.
